Scientists have noted a recent change in the physiology of Sugar Gliders in that they have increased considerably in girth and weight while maintaining the same overall length. This ‘obesity’ is thought to come from an increased intake of high fructose corn syrup in the Sugar Gilder’s diet and rare instances of Sugar Glider diabetes have been reported. As a result, these fat Sugar Gliders have lost their ability to fly and instead use only their feet for mobility. While many wanted to rename these slovenly creatures “Sugar Waddlers”, scientists quickly pointed out that there is already a name for these creatures, the Chipmunk.
